My favourite part about the site:
The welcoming and friendly staff and players are a wonderful part of Katila. The staff is fair and helpful, and there's a chance to play whatever you want - including gold dragons - as long as you put in the effort to be a part of the site. Just as important, however, is the deliciously dark and realistic plot of the site, which is both very participation-oriented and active, and doesn't feel at all railroaded.
Characters we need:
I would love to see more older riders - ones who might have held rank in the Weyrs before the plague - and to see NPC weyrlings adopted.
Upcoming events:
Hatchings are frequent, but hardly the most important event in the site's life. The investigation into the attempted murder of the Weyrleader is underway, and the resolution of that plot is sure to shake up the Weyr.
Why you should join us:
If you like character-driven plot, dark and troubled times, and a realistic Weyr setting, Second Pass is a wonderful place to find it. The feel of the site is very gritty, and everything is set up for character development, participation, and a change from the normal "get-a-shiny" Pern RPG routine.

What slow torture was waiting for him outside the bathing room? Lashings? Not getting laid? Coming outside to realize that S'kef had taken over the Weyr and was making D'ren suck his dick? N'gelt was Weyrsecond now too, and probably had every right to punch him in the face for no reason!
