The morning sunlight filtering through the dusty cracked window of the abandoned house woke Hige from his slumber, he groaned softly at being awoken by the sun, he knew it was early just a little after sunrise. He glanced out of the dirty window and saw the early morning fog hanging close to the ground making it a little difficult to see very far. Hige stood up and stretched yawning silently as he walked to the stairs that had been partially destroyed by a ceiling beam that had fallen across the stairs. It was just a big enough gap that he could jump across it but most normal humans wouldn't. So he had cleverly found himself a safe spot where none of the humans in town could bother him, not like there were many here anyways. The town of Lior, as he later came to know it, by listening to the few humans that did live here since his arrival in Lior a year ago. This small desert ghost town wasn't much to look at, but it suited Hige cause he could roam around and be free without too much interference from humans. And this ghost town was better than the cage he was stuck behind back in that other city, what was the name again? Oh yeah, Shamballa Inc., in Central. How he had hated it there, being crammed in a cage unable to be free and roam around how they pleased, that life didn't suit him at all, so he had escaped and been here ever since.
His stomach growling broke him from his thoughts, time to find some food. He easily jumped the gap between the stairs and paused at the door his senses on alert, he sniffed the air, nothing smelt out of the ordinary and with that he opened the door and walked out into the morning fog to go find some grub, but with his keen sense of smell it didn't take him long to find the guy selling hot dogs in front of a run down building. He stepped out onto the street and casually blended with a small band of travelers walking up the street, as they passed the hot dog stand he paused and bent and sniffed the hot dogs, snatching two as he did so before rejoining the crowd for a little while before turning down a back alleyway eating one of the hot dogs as he walked. Ah, life was good.

Blue wasn't the kind to spend very long in cities as a general rule, but it wasn't that hard here. The humans either wanted to hide or to find other humans, and the ones who wanted to come after wolves were easily lost amid the wandering streets and narrow alleys. It was also helpful to have another wolf to watch your back and since she and Tsume had agreed to travel together they were generally able to keep themselves out of the way and mostly safe. With all of the abandoned houses there were plenty of temporary dens to take refuge in and even some food, though picking through garbage wasn't as good as hunting- but in the desert it was hard enough to find something to eat anyway.
It was easier to get around if you kept up the human facade that they were so ready to accept and a little distance, so Blue was walking around in that way, her blue eyes calm and her posture relaxed with her 'hands' in the pockets of her 'dress'. The scents of what humans took for meat were thick in the air and the streets were a bit more crowded than they were during the rest of the day, but this seemed to be a time when the humans had agreed to eat as something of a group. Maybe some kind of pack-instinct they didn't think of anymore still led them to do this, but it wasn't something the female thought about a good deal. Not all of the humans were that bad, but that didn't mean they were easy for wolves to understand.
There was a slight breeze that carried the scents through the streets, and on it was another whiff of a wolf- not Tsume, but another male. Cocking her head Blue cast her gaze out into the street again and watched, then saw him. After all, the wolves knew their own. If he had any sense he'd notice her there as well, and then it would be up to him whether or not he approached. After all, she was there first and that meant the burden of introduction was on this red-brown, human-seeming stranger.

Tsume was sort of glad he decided to travel with Blue. Now that he was with another wolf, he realized just how lonely he had really been the past few years. He was strolling down a side street near where all the humans were gathering, much more than usual. He could smell Blue nearby, probably checking out what was going on like he was, but there was also the stench of the human food. The stuff was horrible, really, but out here it was all that was even edible. Tsume brought up his human illusion and prepared to venture out into the crowd he could see from the inside of the alley. Just as he was stepping out into the sunlight, the tiniest shift in air currents brought the scent of another.
Male, specifically, was the other. There were a lot of humans about, and Tsume couldn't see into the throng to locate this new wolf. However, he figured it wouldn't be much of a problem. At some point, if the other wolf hadn't already, he would smell Blue and himself, and then would have to come to them, because for all intents and purposes, this city was Blue's and his territory. Tsume's stomach growled in unison with some of his usual shoulder pain, however, so he shuffled into the human crowd to try and get some food without having to dig for it in trash cans.

Hige paused at the edge of the alleyway and finished the last of his first hotdog. He leaned there against the wall, watching the humans walk by, suddenly the breeze shifted and the smell of two others, one male and one female came to his nose, well now wasn't this interesting. His red-amber eyes looked around feeling as though he was being stared at. And sure enough he spotted the blue eyed 'girl' staring at him. He looked around for the other male but couldn't spot him among the other humans, he was either not in their view yet or in front of them. He did one final glance up and down the street before walking over to the girl. "Why, hello there!" he said cheerfully, "Its been awhile since I"ve seen another one of my kind, whats your name?" He smiled and tilted his head slightly causing the collar around his neck to make a slight 'clink' noise.

From the way the wind carried she could tell that Tsume was somewhat nearby, but it shifted so often and intermingled with the scent of the humans that it would have been hard to guess his location in a more specific way than what alley her ally was in- but then she didn't have the strongest sense of smell in her pack. Her vision was a bit more acute though. Every wolf seemed to have a sense in which they had extra strength when compared to others, but it wasn't worth thinking over at the moment. Other things needed to be done.
Blue was a bit surprised as the strange male approached her, seemingly without any kind of fear or hesitation- which either meant that he was very confident or very stupid. Hopefully it was the first one and not the second because those interactions got old fast. With her expression nonchalant she watched as he stopped a little bit in front of her, secure in her own abilities and the fact that her ally was close enough to help should she need it.
That gave her time to take this new one in a little more fully. Red-brown, stocky and strong- but what was that neck-binding? Something one of the humans must have slipped on, no doubt. There were stories of them having done the same within her pack generations ago to keep track of what animals went where, but none of them had made themselves known to the entire two-legged species in some time, or so she'd overheard. Wolves were supposed to be 'extinct', which meant 'all dead forever'. How wrong they were.
Smiling slightly she gave a nod at the greeting to acknowledge it, then looked around to make sure that the pair weren't drawing any undue attention. Tsume should probably have been rounding the corner soon if he was concerned, or he could continue hunting for things until needed, it made very little difference to the female. "It's good to see you as well," she replied, her voice steady and her posture relaxed as she stood straight. "I'm called Blue. What's your name?"
